He Said - She Said
And she said, Why can’t he see Love only needs hold me, To emotionally, physically care? Planning a sweet day that swirls around me His true joy in my great longing just to share. And he said, Why does most my planning go right past her When I work to bring our future back on line? All she seems to want is just emotion, Woman’s love only a gushing verbal rhyme? And she said, Sometimes in the day I get so lonely, Is it saying far too much to miss his touch? Social norms require that we work separate And it seems that all our dates are truly dutch. And he said, God, how I am longing for alone time The cacophony of work followed by home Needs that seem to pile on one another So that messages of Love are best by phone. And she said, Why can’t someone share with me the answer For I don’t believe that he bears me ill-will Lead me Lord to strength to keep on giving And in trusting him, the way to serve him still. And he said, Help me Lord to know I’m not the answer And to understand that riddles are to share! Put me on Your path that leads to Glory Make my every choice a choice that shows I care.
