A Gift Regifted
The birds sing there joyous songs while the suns rays illuminate my world, Streching out my arms i think it's time to give this day a whirl. I jump in the bath and wash away the struggles of yesterday, Drying myself off, I scavenge the closet for the costume of the person I will play. I choose to be the writer of poems both hellish and bright, The person that speaks of struggle and fright, To show that the dark will never conquer the light. This day I will tickle your ears and help lead you out of your plite. For my today may be filled with masterful brush strokes of genuine bliss, But I also have felt dispair's rancid kiss. So as this beautiful day has been gifted to me, I must mold it into motivation of those that have yet to be free. Though your burdens be heavy and your strength slowly dwindle, May you read these words and may the stand as a righteous symbol, That though the path may look impassable but do not fret, Keep your faith unshaken and your eyes focused on the prize your sure to get.
