Confessions
Your tears are beautiful, as they fall across your face, leading the path down, that more are sure to take. I hold you in my arms, and tell you It’ll be alright, As teardrops stain my sweater, I promise I’ll help you fight. And as you sit here crying, pouring your heart out to me, I just sit and listen, and let your pain go free. You tell me about the way, that your boyfriend was you life. You tell me about the girl, that’s the center of your strife. You tell me about the way, you knew something wasn’t right. You tell me all about the way, he didn’t come home one night. How all you got was a call, saying there was a girl, who’s been there all along, and your head began to swirl. As sadness took over your body, and pain took over your heart, you had but one desire, to tear yourself apart. All at once you begin to realize, all the times you should’ve seen. That something wasn’t right, but it seemed just like a dream. As you try to find a way, to make yourself feel right. You look up and notice, On the counter there is a knife. And at the time, your head wasn’t right, and you saw no way to win. And blood goes down your arm, as the blade grags across your skin You had a moment of weakness, and at the time it felt so good. And you felt all of the pain, exactly like you should. It gave you satisfaction, knowing your blood was spilled. It gave you satisfaction, as the hole in your heart was filled. But after that you realized, that your heart had opened again. and you began to think of the way, you decided to handle the pain. You start to sit up and show me, the scars that don your wrist. I bend down and I kiss them, and tell you let it become your bliss. Let it become a reminder, that once you had been weak. But now you can look up and realize, to turn the other cheek. I wrap you in my arms and tell you, that you’re a beautiful and amazing girl. And that you can know I’m being honest. because you’ve always been my world. It’s now my turn to speak, as I tell you of my love. And all the things, I ever thought, but never did speak of. I wipe the tears from your eyes and tell you, the thing you never did see, was the unconditional love and affection, you’d always get from me. So as you sit here crying, and thinking you’re worthless too. I look you in the eyes and tell you, I love you just for you. So stay with me forever, and I’ll never let you cry. I swear I’ll keep that promise, until the day I die.
