Upon a Falling Star
It was on the eve of Christmas night I could only sit and gaze at the sky light The universe, thought I, is mysterious I guess it makes us as such I was alone and I did celebrate my loneliness with scotch Tears did come to my eyes Why, after all, I did think myself wise I had left the family nest Caring not to think that it was so precious That it was the only thing that did, to me, matter much! Why, thought I upon a falling star I wish to travel back in time Say, star, so glittery, could you help me ease my inner war? I then closed my eyes and opened them to a new scene I was yet seven, it was Christmas and I was still the family's queen! Everyone did surround me, as I woke up and rushed to the magical tree Mom, dad, grand mom, cousins, even uncles and aunties Why, my joy and well being was the only thing that mattered Being a little queen, I must say, had well catered My laughter was the only thing that wanted my whole family! A home it was, with warmth and solace Cosy and enjoyable, oh how I wish for that lost time A time when the departed was still among us A time when I was so loved as to be pampered for the sake of a whole fuss A time I wish to go back to, tonight, as I do sit and drink my scotch!
