Christmas Is Dead
Christmas once brought all the people joy Santa bringing presents for the girls and boys Shrieks of delight could be heard on Christmas Day As the children unravelled all their toys to play And the parents as well spreading good cheer Be it strangers or friends all the same that time of year Remembering long ago the birth of our Lord That beautiful child who Mary adored Even man to man in the trenches they ceased Fighting the war on that day of peace Crossing the lines where their dead friends had lain Remembering our Lord as brothers again All that is gone now the streets filled with blood The inhumanity of man only seen wearing hoods It's the innocent who suffer the one's who don't know Why they lost their limbs well maybe God knows For the lepers of society who fight in his name They're making more bombs ready to maim And now all the people in this country will dread The coming of December now Christmas is dead.
