One is a thought that I touched on in previous writes. God puts a hedge around those whom He loves to protect them...We sometimes choose to break down that hedge, and we suffer the consequences. Psalms 13: 5 - 6 You have hedged me behind and before, And laid Your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it. Another thought is about how God speaks to us. He speaks to us through nature, though other believers, through His word, and sometimes...its that small voice that whispers in our ear. That's how it was with the prophet Elijah. He was afraid and was in hiding. God had plans for him. 1 Kings 19:11-13New International Version (NIV) 11 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper. 13 When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave. Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” The King James Version mentions...a still small voice. Yes, He still speaks to us...but do we listen?
