The Flood From Mother's Passing
I wept for her motherless years that Left her wounded, and limping for love I wept for her being alone in a strange land Without a sturdy hand to guide her I wept for her innocence that was played upon By her husband needing a mom, I wept I wept for histories fiercest touch to Her roots, in sun scorched seasons I wept she was at a loss, with reason her father, a businessman, at times mistreated her I wept for daylight finding her In the dark of poverty, I wept I wept for her being born in asthmatic state, that Stole her strength and will for higher heights I wept for her laundering and baking in the rain For pennies on top of pennies I wept for her lonely days and years, when She sat alone with memories of turbulent past, I wept I wept for dreams deferred, of her desiring to be a Lawyer I wept for scars, and understanding so late The best of friend, (The Savior), could lift me up, to Buffer her beyond storms, to the very end. I wept, I wept, I wept. *
