Beware of All Hollows Eve
Beware, do beware of all hollows eve, Many have heard but few understood, And far far fewer believe. Once, long ago on that very night, Came a man on a mighty black steed, He plodded along through a darkening storm, Seeking vengeance for apparent misdeed. He rode to an Inn and soaked to the skin, Made quite a sight to be seen. Seems most of his head, had been smashed off and dead, But his senses were quick and still keen. The other guests stared as the inn keep prepared, To make room for the man with half head. He sized up the game then fiercely proclaimed I’ll not need a pillow or bed. I’m looking for men with money to spend, They’ve stolen my savings and then. They killed me you see with the limb of a tree, But you’ll note that I’m sort of not dead. I’ll find them tonight and cause such a fright, I’ll make them regret what they stole. Your reward will be fine if you help me to find, Those men who took money and soul. The crowd only stared, froze in fear, looking scared, When a child from the back spoke his mind. I’ve seen several men with money to spend, And blood on their hands you will find. Take me to them, make haste my young friend, On your word your reward does rely. So they set off this pair with no time to spare, To make right what occurred by and by. They found the two men, drunk and slovenly then, Keeping warm with a bottle and fire. As the pair made their way to the men’s lair they say, That the drunks and the dead man conspired. Seems the trick was the boy and the three would enjoy, A feast most rare and divine. The ghouls though it seemed made a meal most extreme, From that child and some mulberry wine. So beware do beware of those that look dead, Stay inside stay alive avoid all with smashed head. Bar your door seal you home till the night takes its leave, And don’t wander out on all hollows eve.
