Victim
If I have to listen One more time To your voice it grinds If you hate it then go Who has told you that it isn’t so? Who holds your feet under your desk? What is forcing you to sit and create? What has the world offered That you so despise? I can see behind your eyes And you cry, you cry What is this pain? That suffers you so No ball and chain No hidden gain No lies of tomorrow No enforced sorrow If I have to listen one more time I’m going to crawl Over to your feet I’m going to nail them down Maybe then you’ll leave Then I’m going to cry I’m going to live out your pain When everyone around you is hurting Will that relieve you inside? If we all suffer too Hold your hand Will you forgive yourself Disjointed man Will you begin to cry too? Please hurry and heal Your voice is becoming a part of me A part of your prison Give me some relief Next time I hear you I’m going to stand And shout your name Over and over and over again Until my voice is hoarse And I can barely speak I’ve got to leave this place I’ll give you another week
