How Poetry Began
How poetry began An ongoing lesson of grade three class, For shy newcomer boy, teacher had a plan, As I read lesson, he looked through the glass, And that's how the poetry began, One seat for me beside everyday he kept, Sharing every idea and each clan, Rising to top subdued my rank, envious I wept, And that's how the poetry began, The day he left school my world crashed, Waved off with teary eyes as disappeared the van, Left to books and study, emotions dumped, And that's how the poetry began, World so small that seven years we met again, When love and emotions in the blood ran, Without each other life seemed all going vain, And that's how the poetry began!
