Somebody Else's Arms
When I feel hurt and so alone And tears come to my eye, When all I need’s a sweet embrace, Someone to stand close by, The devil comes to me and says “I will be here for you. I’ll lend a hand and I will cheer You up when you feel blue. Now come here and let me hold you And take you in my arms. Yes, I will keep you comforted And safe from all alarms.” Then I tell Satan “No thank you. For I do not think so. Stop telling lies to me right now, Things you want me to know. Oh can’t you see I found someone To whom my love is true? And he will even do the things That you said you would do. This man, He loved me so much that He died upon a tree. He suffered, bled, and took my place In pain and agony. Yes, He will keep me comforted And safe from every harm. Now Satan, look and see I’m in Somebody else’s arms.”
