Humilation
Humiliation I ask for nothing in consideration, Not after you’ve caused undue humiliation of my feelings and myself by putting your kindness on a shelf I walk through valleys of turmoil. Self esteem dredging through damp wet soil Eyes and ears sensitized at every corner Myself is an island, a ship wrecked loner A target for your criticism and scorn And object that gives you elation because your spirit is so torn It will not be repaired until your shoes are truly worn You mock me and grin at every turn. Snide remarks and laugher in the air What goes around comes around and it may burn Because your mouth may bear your most wear. Your mouth can be the beginning of building up Or tearing down, a person’s essence of themselves. Words of hurt need to remain on their shelves. If the shoe was on the other foot could you wear your own crown.
