Taking a Five
I'm an alien, like I'm from outer-space, I'm running my fastest, still losing this race, I'd try and run faster but there's no changing my pace, just hoping I don't fall and become a disgrace, thought I belonged in this world but that isn't the case, you can see I don't belong here by the look on my face I'm lost and I can't be found, until I find myself buried, find me six feet underground, this feeling I'm square just pretending I'm round, or a cat with all dogs, in a cage, at the pound, dialogues blend around me but I can't hear a sound, but while I can't find myself I know I'm always around the party is raging, I'm just sitting outside, I try to make myself leave but I can't find a ride, not running through life I'm learning to glide, when I get too nervous I let the real me hide, I try to follow life's rules but some are hard to abide, I try to piece myself together while my thoughts all divide ... I love the real in life not something contrived, so I keep sitting and waiting for real life to arrive, just pushing my way through this crowded bee-hive, hoping I get stung just so I might feel alive, but I know I need a break, I think I might take a five...
