Storms
Driving back home in my old black jalopy The kids in the back were getting quite stroppy Storm clouds were gathering straight ahead I felt a chill for I could sense danger in my head The darkness intensified before our very eyes Rain started to lash down, it was no surprise A huge clap of thunder rang in our ears The children were crying I could feel their fears Lightning streaks across the skies The children scream and cover their eyes Dark shadows from trees create vivid scenes Like twisted old witches in my darkest dreams Suddenly across the road a tree is falling I am going to crash I hear destiny calling Lightning flashes light up the sky But this is not our time to die Good evening Ma'am I'm from the AA I just happened to be driving this way We were all reassured by guys gentle smile He helped us move the tree in a very short while. Fascination gripped the kids in the back of the car As the kind gentleman told us how lucky we are That tree could have crushed us but for fates intervention The way god works beyond our comprehension. Off to Mcdonald's the kids deserve a treat A big mac and fries they excitedly eat You ring your mum to say we are on our way home See you soon grandma the kids shout through the phone.
