To the Little Girl On the Tram
To the little girl I saw on the tram today, You, are beautiful Your eyes shines like the sun in summer time Your smile would melt the ice on north pole Your dark, black hair flows just like the Niagara waterfall Your marks on your face are like mountains waiting for the sunrise You, you are beautiful. But remember, When you grow up, Do not let the culture today control you Beauty, make up, skinny, perfect skin Superficial, artificial images that society labeled as “beauty" When life seems cold, dark and bitter, And you feel like ripping off every cell on your face and body, Remind yourself that its who you are, You are NOT to be defined by The marks on your face, the numbers of your body The size of your boobs or the length of your legs! Cause eventually all this “beauty” will fade And whats left of you would be you and your beating heart. Don’t ever stop your heart from beating, Because your heart never stopped believing in you, Every pump through the vein, Every beat through the night, The blood through your veins sends warmth to your heart, A little reminder of who you are. So little girl on the tram, When you grow up, just remember that Your eyes shines like the sun in summer time Your smile would melt the ice on north pole Your dark, black hair flows just like the Niagara waterfall And your marks, Your marks are like mountains waiting to see a beautiful sunset You, are beautiful.
