The Bridge For Departed Souls :The Legend of Arch Rock
She-Who-Walks-In-Mist, Lovely maiden, daughter of a chief. Her lips had never been kissed, When she was left to lie in grief. Many braves had adored her, Many had asked for her hand. But she already loved another, A brave not of this land. She could love only one, He was Evening Star, high above. Watching over her until he came down, Proclaiming to her, his own love. The chief, enraged at his daughters affair, Lashed her hands and feet, determined she be alone. He took her to the Turtle Island in despair, and laid her upon a massive ledge of limestone. So many tears she cried, day after day, Until, at last, he descended for her once again. Her tears had melted the rock beneath her away, Just as Evening Star carried her to the heavens. She gazed upon the arch her pain had made below, The rock that her own tears had crumbled apart. Leaving a bridge for departed souls, From tears that could not melt her father's heart.
