Dark Angels
DARK ANGELS Dark angels watch over my soul. Dark spirits black and cold. Dark voices of ice that call in the night. Sirens of doom, prophets of gloom, unceasing in their prayers, calling, always calling. Words of doubt and songs of fear. Dark tidings ever near. “The brightest day is darkest night. The end is near with no hope in sight. Pick up the blade. make them stop. All is lost, all is rot.” “Let me be!” I plead. My cry they spurn and return to trouble my weary mind, to accuse me of my latest crime. A moment of rest. A moment of sleep. My hope returns. Their voices a memory, until the night. Thirsty for blood And bits of my soul my darkest angels cry bloody tears singing tales of woe Release me from the crushing vice of sinful deeds and sinful rites. Let my heart be whole again and happy days return. For I wander with dark companions in the longest night. Lost in my dreadful plight. There must be an end to this sad tale There must be better days ahead. Until that time when joy is mine I am desolate with my friends. The angels fear and woe.
