Just Want To Be Free
If someone were to ask me what it is I want right now, I’d say I just want to be free. Free of the emotions that keep me bound, Free of the memories that affect my sleep, Free of the burdens of my heart. I want to finally let you go. Finally feel like you aren’t what’s stopping me from truly being happy again. I want to be able to close my eyes and not see your face, Not see all the things we had when we were together. I want to be able to dream about lives simple beauties instead of you and what will never happen. I want to be able to say your name without my heart racing. I want to be able to talk about you and feel nothing, Feel as if talking about you won’t keep you in my heart. I just want to not find myself thinking about you, Wishing you’d change your mind, Hoping every minute of every day that we still have a chance. I want to never feel the need to text you, To tell you my adventures during the day. I want to never desire to see you, To hope that seeing me will spark something within you. I want to never miss you. Never miss talking to you, Never miss what we had. I just want to let go.
