Embers
I left the hateful arms that hold I left them dead so long ago They will never take my mind They can’t make a fire out of the dust I hold inside I broke the pain of loss I let her die and then I sealed her off I carry nothing to begin No love or hope, no place to be because there’s nothing real within It still negates me All reality has died There’s nothing true that I see Because everything that was has turned into a lie I turn the page and then I go on to carry breath or just change myself instead I need something to forgive And when it’s done I’ll find the duality I’ve lived There’s still nothing real within me All the paint I used has gone There’s only what I have seen Experiences of death and dreams are the only things living on I left the arms that held me I let them leave so long ago There’s no more fire within me The embers die and everyone I loved now drifts into the snow
