Spring Fever
There! Hills tell each other, the listening valleys hear In full choir the earth hails approach of spring The winds kiss the perfumed garments of her Her morn and evening breathe scatter, life swings. Across the land, come spring, string my guitar. An old song dancing through the pines, No words to the haunting melody The forest laden with sound from glens entwined Voices of streams and trees linger endlessly The forest sings to spring mystical music All things turn green and colorful Tulip festivals abound everywhere unique. Here on my garden the lovely spring pops up Each flower and herb on earth’s breast. I feel the spirit of loveliness stirring up, With dreams to live up after wintry rest. ========== March 6, 2014 Dr. Ram Mehta Form: Ballad Third Place Win Contest: Spring Fever by Poetess Darkly
