Innocence
This tiny little eight year old girl with tears in her eyes Mixed in with wars horrible swirl this little girl simply cries Her whole entire family was killed seeing her mother murdered too It is what these rebels willed it is what they are meant to do Only her Great Aunt was left alive cradling her with each arm How did they ever survive and escape such a rampaging harm And now just sitting alone a reporter asked if she could speak And in the softest tone she said words only spoken by the meek Murdered for just their religious belief Our Lord protected her life Oh but her enormous grief and there being so much war torn strife So much pain on her tiny little face oh the pain that there must be But she was filled with such a glorious Grace for her faith never did flee As the reporter would soon say to your enemies what would you have said Her hands drawn up to her face as her eyes begin to slightly close She said, "Give us this day our daily bread And forgive us our trespasses As we forgive those who trespass against us" My heart began to break and my lips began to tremble My soul now so awake as my own daughter she could resemble Wiping the many tears away and falling down onto my knees Oh how for her I did pray for God will always hear our pleas
