Silence
Laying in the silence trying to decide what to do. There's not a lot she can do. Will it even make a difference if she does anything? She hates to sit back and watch things go the way they are, but what can she do? Closing her eyes she listens to the silence. She listens to the calm. Sometimes it's nice for her to hear nothing except each beat of her heart. For there to be nothing to distract her. She concentrates on the rhythm. It's steady and quiet. As she begins to think of the things going on her heart speeds up, like it's trying to keep up with the thoughts running through her head, but her heart can't beat that fast, if it did it may explode. Maybe that's why she is struggling to breathe, the pressure is too much. She's keeping her eyes closed listening, listening to nothing, yet listening to everything. Sometimes the silence is louder than you could ever imagine. It says nothing, but it says it all.
