Depression
It’s an emotion that will cover your entire will Continually making life a very bitter pill Slowly creeping in it will cloud your entire mind Making any type of joy harder and harder to find And as it pulls you ever so near It controls you wholly by using your own fear Until surely soon all your emotions he will mask And all the while in your suffering he will bask He doesn’t want to have to leave For he gets so much pleasure in watching you grieve Now you tell him you want to die And he doesn’t even bat an eye And just when all is seemed to be lost You pull out that old church pamphlet that you just couldn’t toss And as you look it over and begin to read It replaces all that depression with a brand new seed One filled with Glory and of great promises to be One that gives you insight and enables you to see And as your will again begins to breath The angst of depression begins to seethe But he has lost all his power in this glorious new relm For now the Lord Jesus is at the helm And when You tell Him of all your pain All that depression will simply begin to wane
