King David and Absalom
King David and Absalom… From King David, his son Absalom was named. He lived under the rule of his father’s reign. He grew up loved and admired by many… Any kind of charm, he didn’t lack any. He avenged the rape of his half-sister’s brother. He then turned his focus on to another. After a few years, he declared himself king. From David, he wanted to take everything! He raped his dad’s concubines, and David fled. Absalom wanted to be king, and David to be dead! David sent Hushai. to be close to Absalom’s side. Bad council was what he wanted to provide. Absalom took his council, and his choice was plain. He went to war with David, but his life was slain. The sword of Joab had pierced Absalom within. Never more, would Israel hear from him again! For all of the pain, this brought to David a sorrow. But he learned to trust the God of tomorrow! For all of David’s accomplishments, his son was gone. David asked for God’s mercy for all that was wrong. May we all seek to follow God with all of our heart. And seek the Lord’s wisdom, before the pain starts! The God of David is the God who reigns today! May we be inspired by the words he has to say! Blessed is he who trusts God and daily knows him! For the God of David, will never fail him!
