Beneath My Beautiful
Beneath My Beautiful. Beneath my beautiful, Lies alot, Some of which, You may not want to see. Carefully piled up, Made up, Covered up to conceal, The truth of what lies within. Beneath my beautiful, Lies heartache, sorrow and pain, Fear of going through the same, Desire to have things change, Need to wipe out Hurt's stains. See I was told, That only the strong and the bold, Will get peace and joy that I so wished to behold, So I walked up to the mirror, Wiped off my tears and, Pampered up my eyes with mascarra. Covered the the veins of pain with eyeshadow, And on the cheeks marked with tear stains, Added a little colour, One pat here, One pat there, And I was done. I was ready to face the world, Get that joy that I knew I deserved, But I forgot that each journey has its shine and rain, And so it rained, I with no other plan than A, No where to shelter or shade, And thus my beautiful was slowly washed away. Beneath my beautiful, Lies unending cries, Consuming desire, Desperate pleas, For joy and peace, Lord Here is what lies beneath the masquerade of happiness, That smile curved on the mask, Is as false and fake, Like fertility in the statue of liberty, Beneath my beautiful lies the real me, Sort me out I beg thee please.
