The Wall That Names Me
The little girl inside of me, the one I once knew. Spun in life's confusion; a smile to hide what I've been through! That little girls name was...Kerrie Pooh. My smile, a weapon I grew to glow, Hiding the secret I'd never want anyone to know! My home a comfort no one should bare. I kept looking out for anyone to care! My childhood dream of how it could be, when no one could touch me! Just one night was all I asked, I'd pray for just one night without him to pass! Many years went by as I stared deeplyinto the sky... Heaven take me this I cannot bare. I have to hide and this I cannot share! This boy, a monster who loved me only in the dark, had a father who beat my mother and if he knew he'd tear her apart! My brother and sister with all of their tears, I fought each night to comfort their fears. Daisy, a name the monster's father gave me, not knowing "Daisy" was the wall I built to save me!
