My Envy Ablaze
I always covet what I do not own Despite the Laws that are written in stone. I envy what I cannot obtain. To those who possess, I wish them pain... I want to simply banish this incursion- Those thoughts of dark and bitter aversion. Even with whom I share my life, I battle thoughts of internal strife. I want to love without despising, Pointless it seems to suppress the rising Thoughts of loathing that betrays My mind, consumed by envy ablaze. I try and come so far for you, Only to sorely fail. My affection for you and everyone has become all but stale. For you I labored without end My time and love I would forever lend. But because of the feelings I could not convey He took your arm, and you both strolled away. When I see them together, my heart turns to lead. Needless to say, I wish him dead. I stand outward to the ocean, feeling the sun's rays, But deep down within my heart Still lies my envy ablaze.
