Thompson Island 1907
Thompson Island 1907 The rats had invaded The hens, they negated What were the school boys to do They got out the hose Those rats to dispose Whenever they came into view It was 1907 The boys six to eleven There at the Farm and Trade School They had come to learn farming But the rats were alarming So they set about for a duel The rats were digesting The hens that were resting And the geese living under the house The rats, they were stealthy And with poison unhealthy These old rats they decided to douse They plugged escape holes Armed the young boys with some poles Then proceeded to turn on the hose As the rats scurried out They were bandied about And that was the end of those As the battles were fought Escaped rats, there were naught And the boys hung their kill on the fence There were one fifty two By the time they were through Not a rat has come back ever since So if rats were your problem These boys sure could solve them For their lessons they learned you could tell Their folks were elated For when they graduated They rid rats from their farms as well
