Sound Asleep, I Leave You
In my veins, I feel it. The velvet that runs deep. My thought are often crowded, But you open me up with ease. The rhythmic hammering in my chest, takes flight when you're around. A unyielding elation showers me, My body begins to shake. Your head is moving closer, And our hands are interlocked. Your voice is simmering at the tip of your tongue, And I breathe in something hot. You're perfect, he whispers. I listened with intent. His palms were getting sweaty, And his breathing began to even. Sorry, I whisper to myself. A instant flood of guilt. Discreetly, I rise and gain composure, As I peep at your face. Sound asleep I leave you, Peaceful and carefree. I know that you are dreaming, And I hope it's about me.
