Ecce Ego Sto
Conviction like a drunkard sleeps Too tired to think Memory gifts of beliefs it keeps Truth edged to brink No new world order but the old Crowd at Dura One only stand by being bold I'm enigma No matter now the fate of fire The scoff of fear The resentment of thin desire I'm master here My beliefs are destiny's goal I for the cross The cross for my savage soul I dare no loss Nor public doubt, nor rumour blind This is my stand Changeless, without pity's frail sign Faith I command Where is the best of us? The end Of fool's passion? Belief to thinkers I commend Fools for fission. What have we done with facts again Weak minds still stray Frantic to hold them without pain The self is clay Belief is based on better things Connections proof Though knowledge comes from even kings I walk aloof. I hold this place, standing now here Amidst his grace I disband pride or will to fear I stand still chaste. Here I stand, and cannot apart The faith I learned This is the fencing of my heart Or I be burned.
