Unrecognized Image
Laying silent, blinds down & drapes drawn No glimpse of shadows or light. Many similar nights pondering changes Deliberating life’s strife & fright. Wide-awake not yet drifted to sleep An unidentified image appears. No human traits, no expression, no face Not one sound this image whispers. A dark image draped in a hooded robe Standing so tall, so vivid, and so bold. Surrounded by a celestial glow A refreshing calmness began to unfold. Visions projected lamenting good tidings My pain, suffering & fear lifting away. This image now fading, so was my doubt Delivered to renewed strength, I pray. Bestowed with relentless courage to conquer All that was recently thrust in my path. That unrecognized angel paved my future Alleviating all anger from life’s wrath. Copyright ©2005 Brenda Buterbaugh
