Long Time Coming First Kiss
Him I have walked among the stars. As humble hope has risen in my heart. Will she let me kiss her? Will I pass the sacred test? Should I bring her flowers, To soften up her heart? What if she denies me? Can I endure the pain? Should I try to closely hold her? Or start with a kiss, gently lain. Should I stare into her eyes? Will she become mesmerized? Will she let me hold her, in my aching arms? Will she let me closely worship her smiling charms? Should I spy a smudge to wipe from upon her cheek? Then quickly lean in, to capture what I so desperately need? Should I sneak my arm around? Or is that too cliché? We can hardly look each other in the eye… too shy, too shy, too shy. Her First kisses are the hardest that is plain to see. For we were both twenty-five and had not ever been kissed. So I just grabbed my nerdy love, and beat him to the kiss. I could wait no longer… or it might have been Christmas! Four months later we were married, yes, that is true. And I did the proposing… so again… what is new? Thank Goodness the love was true.
