Roads
Soon I  hope to leave this road The one that leads to pain Its long and winding path Will take me home again Home to where the heart is Is how the saying goes To me its just home Where my love for Tilly grows Tilly is a rescue girl Who wonders where I've gone Four weeks since I was home Hope I'm not jumped upon Cos in a fragile state i am The surgeons work is done But a long road to recovery Until I say I've won  Lost a friend along the way Flown away like a bird Couldn't understand somethings i'd done Didn't look  past the written  word Friends you always miss Whether near or afar But they should always know The door is always ajar Now I have to concentrate On getting stronger every day Breathe deeply, do my exercise To keep the pain  away So the road I walk more slowly Each pace a painful step But a smile still creeping up my face To say thanks for all the help
