Free Cee Sea Past the Mast
SEA PAST THE MAST For most folks I know…….. that which has come to pass is stowed well away in the past They’ve cast off the shadows and shelters of their history However my past is wedded to withering woe and the winter’s wind so blistery Betrothed to the frigid frostiness of fear and a foregone conclusion of catastrophe While frustration takes center stage With rage as my bounty yet confined by a cage Penned up without a pen to jot down random thoughts and notions Impounded and pounded by a mallet of emotions Shut in by shame and a game only losers are allowed to participate in As secular spirits are secluded secretly with the insight to anticipate sin I am hemmed in, cooped up and enclosed within a crate indicated by hate In my case that which has come to pass is also my tomorrow while my tomorrows leaves me aghast A state in which I’ve too often been found in the distant and most recent past It’s as if I am a once strengthened sailboat, a sloop that used to split the waves to weather well and willfully the tides A vessel that now hides amongst other sails with a splintered and superfluous mast While the heralded headings homeward toward is that which a compass shall never confide Forced to suffer the forecast of failure and the sea’s strident stringency in stride But the very saddest thing of all about what progression relegates to the past……….. Is that the vapor of this very millisecond has become a part of the past so fast ©2012…..PHREEPOETREE ~free cee!~
