Discreetly
discreetly the lies drip from the tongue & the hidden life is behind the eyes just far enough out of reach that the conversational partner cannot grasp the monster just a few feet away from them--- the talk goes on this way & it may lead to other things, since the night is so young & one drink can lead to another, s/he stands next to the bar enveloped in the story, letting a little more of his/her guard down with every quick gulp--- this is how it all begins, as we put on our best face to make that best impression, other do the same with only a list of savage promises, just beneath the sexy exterior--- the cologne, the perfume intoxicates, the closeness & the heat from one another makes the room seem so much warmer than it is & the beating of the bass pulsating in the veins competing with the heart inside the soon to be victim, and the night is so young, s/he may even get another one before sunrise.
