How Was I To Know
How was I to know my love, That your heart was the twin of mine? That each of our souls danced To the beat of a single rhyme? How was I to know my dear, That you already fell for me? When you were sun kissed freckles And I was just all knees? How was I to know my heart, That I was your moon? That years ago a seed was planted, With a potential for love to bloom? How was I to know my only, That I was waiting for you, too? That all these broken roads I traveled, Were just leading me straight to you? How was I to know my one, That you were to be my forever? That we were already bound, So tightly to one another? How was I to know my own, That I loved you, too? That one day I would promise my heart, So completely to you? How was I to know my future, That I would be here at this alter? Giving you my hand in marriage And a love that will never falter.
