Fading Reality
Broken, bleeding, forever feeling, The sharp pricks of your fingernails, Digging, scraping, tearing at my skin, Causing the sweet wine to run, cold and dark, Ravenous like your hair. Roses, I smell their sweet scent, Tasting, touching, the warmth that the fire brings. Consuming the air, stealing, raping, bleeding, Forever lost in a spinning whirlpool, Feverish thoughts contemplating in my head, trails of the past, Driving the nails into my flesh, changing, twisting, Contorting those dreams, sickening me, As I release the beast. Eyes full of sorrow, heart beating hollow, Drinking from the purity of the basin so shallow. Mourning my lost days, Filling with secrets, going through desecration, Finding the little ounces of sanity, That seem to mend my broken body. Eternity breathing down my spine, Outside I'm in a constant bind, Not knowing if I'm ever what you'd call fine, Just wishing that someone would give me a sign. Any old sign, Still broken and bleeding, Feeding off my insecurities, bleeding, Screaming, wishing for the horror to just end, Bleeding from fresh wounds, Kneeling before the alter, Knowing that my god shall never falter, Sipping of his blood, As my sins are washed away,in his mighty flood. Purifying the sanctity, As my heart takes to his sanctuary, Bleeding seems to be ceasing, Letting go off the reasons, That once bound me to this earth, Knowing that at last... I can finally rest peacefully.
