Now I Am Alone
I look up at the sky, Light blue with clouds, Calm and peaceful. I lay in grass and think to myself, Is what life was meant to be like? Is this the way I was suspposed to live? With a meaning, A purpose. I glance back in the house, The turmoil begins again. I lay my head in the grass and close my eyes, I want it all to end, For it all to stop. Is that too much to ask for? A simple wish from a child, Seems to go unheard. A shout comes from within, Out he runs, A bloody knife in one hand, And his cars keys in the other. My jaw drops and my eyes pop open. I know what he has done. What is done is done, He yells back as he speeds away. I run inside just in time, To catch her as she falls to floor. She dies in my arms. Now I am alone. I am left in world of dismay. So young, So naive. What am I to do?
