Everybody Recommends
when you’re down when you’re blue even petula clark is out to try & get you to do what she wants--- people that you know & people for whom you could hardly give a fleeting **** are all out to cure your troubles by suggesting things that might lift you up suggesting things that they have done which “could possibly do the same for you, if ya just try”--- and then there is the guilt imposed upon when any answer besides a positive agreement (which instills inside the recommender the feeling that they themselves have “done good,” where they walk with their heads a little higher, etc.) is one which is seen as a blatant disregard for their feelings & rather than accept you for your own person you are often cast out as a misanthrope who is “getting what they deserve” for not going with the flow & accepting the tunes that have wooed folks for a thousand ages--- in fact, everyone’s got an answer, a room full of em,’ for questions that you might not have even asked yet but from whose “logical inference” & path already traveled is “supposed to lead” to the same generic conclusions which have already been documented so that more people have to think less--- how wonderful it is to live in a world where everyone recommends to stop living, no?
