The Puzzle Is Never Done
If you place your eggs in one basket it may break. Putting your faith in one thing may become a mistake. As you weigh out your options, the path you shall take, The consequences result from the decisions you make. I awake this morning feeling quite alone. Another lost soul in search of a home. To make some sense I write this poem. My thoughts scatter as my mind roams. I look all around at decisions I’ve made, While the faith I do have starts to fade. So much gone that I wish to have stayed, The fabric of life is tattered and frayed. Life feels like a puzzle with so many pieces. As life passes by the number still increases. As I learn more what is missing decreases. I find some more inside the folds and creases. I think to myself will the puzzle ever be done? As I stand in the shade I can still see the sun. I look all around to see who I have become. It’s within my reach so I try to grab some. I come to an understanding and it does grow. All of these answers I may never quite know. With each passing day another will show. The size of the puzzle continues to grow. The puzzle is never done until you die. The puzzle is vast and infinite as the sky. Time marches on another day goes by. I try to grab another piece of this pie.
