Gentle Strength
Though fame may come and riches round me pour, And honored men make pathways to my door, I count it less than one sweet glimpse of him Whose light is out and now all Earth is dim. This gentle one who loved his fellow man, With strength and open hands, he lived as few men can. He loved this world and all that dwelt within. He shared of all he had, his feelings genuine. When such a light goes out, what comes to take its place? A vacuum none can fill? A longing for his face? He lived each day as though he had not long to live. He needed many more with all he had to give. Dear God in Heaven above, You know his need to share. He'll need someone to help, a soul who needs his care. If Heaven's a perfect place, what's left for him to do? Give him someone to love who needs some tending to.
