Song of Solomon
Song of Solomon I am come into my garden the myrrh, plucked and my head filled with spice. My thoughts turn to my love, I want her with a longing, I can be there in a trice. My head is spinning from all the milk and the wine I’ve eaten the honeycomb with the honey The honey that tastes as sweet as the lips of thine. I can’t wait for you my love, I am knocking at your door Please let me in my dove, I cannot stand this any more. I awake my love, I hear you knocking, calling to come in I am undressed, I don’t know what to do, this may be a sin. My feet are clean and undefiled, if I walk across the floor Then they will be defiled, and I will have honour no more. I rise to open the door to my beloved one, My stomach turned with excitement as I thought of us as one. But my beloved he had left, he had his jumbled mind now sorted The wine and spice was doing the talking and now his will was thwarted. I called for my lover to come back But alas, he did not answer me, I searched the streets in vain, but the watchmen, they caught me. The watchmen when they found me they took my cloak away Although they called me beautiful, there hands they didn't stay They wounded me and inflicted me with pain I cried out to my lover, but I found it was all in vain.
