The Ultimate Honor
Hang not tinsel upon your soul, With false expressions of goodness. A fool’s gold is not worthy of fame, Although its glitter may catch the eye. Let your deeds done be true and faithful, As a springboard of hope for those forsaken. The sluggard in search of cheap fortune, Will get lost in the swell of man’s praise. An honest spirit will long persevere, Though their trials rise as fiery tempest. The remembrance of grace brings deliverance, As the heart surrenders to compassion. A good eulogy is never the ultimate honor, While days filled with integrity are worthy. To come to final judgment before your maker, Can lift you beyond the platitudes of man. Other tokens of praise will diminish, With His words, “Well done, faithful servant.” - Virginia Mitchell Contest Sponsor: Nette Onclaud Contest Name: GLOW OF GLITTER
