Cheers
I finally understand dry mouth Now that I’m running a race Like a dog with its tongue hanging out I’m panting to keep the pace I feel like a Black-eyed Susan, Wilting and bowed in a drought I think I’m suffering from delusions - I just saw Elvis in a cloud! It doesn’t sound too strange, I know But I swear he was cheering for me Rocking his pelvis to and fro, Screaming to take the lead I run into hands pushing H2O And chug the water like shots The icy cold refreshment flows Into me, clearing eye spots I throw down the empty water cups And now see Elvis crystal clear Only it’s not Elvis; it’s me mum, Drunk and flashing her rear! I ignore me mum and the jeers As I speed through the finish line Then join the others with a “cheers” An H20 high five! 9/27/11 Received 10th place in "Flowing Water" contest
