I Do Not Understand Why My Aunt Eats Ants
TO REBUKE PUKE I mean really, put yourself in my place Well no, actually you might want to think twice Because my place ain’t too nice I’ve got a garden where pity grows next to petunias and petunias next to puke In another place I grow greens next to grief As pain propagates near those pretty pansies And the pansies promise property they don’t really own Property that makes a lonely man feel even more alone Over there are the violets right near the vomit My garden shrinks with age as I seek a manual for life It says nothing about feeling very old when you’re far from old indeed Oh, and it’s very sad when all the red roses begin to bleed That’s how it feels in my place where a garden of grief is grown by in-gratitude and paltry presents Holidays come and go but no gifts arrive in the mail for me that day Only the gift of growing older as my garden sprouts again each May I searched for a manual to teach me about gardens and getting older But that manual teaches nothing about flowers to afraid of Like those lovely little lilies growing next to lost love Oh how I wish my garden grew with grandeur and grace So you might want to give some thought to not cputting yourself in my place © 2011.….Phreepoetree free cee!
