I Waited In September
A Sunday in September while summer wasn't through.. The air was still as I waited ,the breeze never moved.. Hours and hours had passed but the train your were on never came.. Each one that pulled in the faces would all look the same.. As the day was ending I walked back to my car.. Stuck in my mind were these same steps and a time not far.. I sat in my seat and closed my eyes to remember.. It was only a year ago we met on a cooler day in September.. As I opened my eyes I can see an envelope pressed on my window.. The first words were "Dear Michael" after that the rest had no flow.. With a pile of "Im Sorrys" and a few trinkled "I still love you's" I was lost. I drove away as tears rolled down knowing there was a price and a cost.. To this day when I drive down that road , I still remember.. It wasn't just any warm Sunday in September.. A true story... written for "September Contest"
