You Will Never Know
I just wanted you to see how I grew But you’re the father I never knew I want to ask that man Why he had to let go of my hand Why he didn’t at least try to make me understand I wanted to show you so many things Share with you all of my dreams If you loved me how could you leave? Was it mother or was it me That you couldn’t bear to see You didn’t even say goodbye Is that why you had to lie You make mother cry But I just got tears in my eyes They won’t come down and I know why You do to All the pain you put me through And even though you were absent, I still love you Now I spend more time alone Keep wishing you could come home So mother don’t have to do it on her own I wish things could have gone different But you didn’t appreciate the new life you was given And now you’re not living So I try to stay driven But as I look into this casket I wish you could answer all the questions I’m asking But you’ll never get a chance to watch me grow Because I’m the daughter, you’ll never know
