My Priorities
My Priorities It’s amazing how my life has changed, My priorities rearranged. I’m growing older, wiser too, Wanting less of me and more of you. My once desires, I knew them well, Are stories I no longer tell. For life has changed me, changed me good, As going older certainly would. In the mirror, I hardly see, The materialized man I used to be. When work gave my purpose, money and fame, And quickly rose my name. But happiness wasn’t behind a desk, Moving on, was my greatest test. That was many years ago, Now my priorities clearly show. Purpose, I find in you, Something my heart knows is true. I’m not ashamed of my past, But momentary pleasures never last. So this road I now am on, Leads to a greener shade of lawn. Cheer for me, I’ve found my way, Enjoying each brand new day.
