No Longer the Same
L5-S1 is the more common known name Destruction of these a deadly game For almost a year unable to move Struggling to show I had everything to prove Losing not just the use of my legs Looking for answers to what my heart begs Please why me, why happen now Unable to control my head I do bow Surgery cost me two inches at least The pain subsided to a tolerable beast Almost six years later my scar still shows Everyday a challenge that no one really knows No longer do I need my walker to guide me No more can to depend on I'm finally free The future is uncertain as it races past Wishing tomorrow is better than the last Before this thing gets a good hold I'd like my story to be known, to be told The reason I'm at home with my boys Not always able to play with them and their toys
