Did they cover kids with stamps, Then by the curb they’d wait? Did they pack them into boxes, Maybe two or three per crate? Did they even have a limit On the size and shape and weight? And I can see grand parents Just waiting by their gate Concerned about their grand kids And why the mail was late Were they ever lost in transit If so, what was their fate And what about the parents Who thought their kids were freight Did the postman ring their doorbell And try to set them straight Or did he just pick up the kids And never hesitate Why did the Postal Service Have to write this rule?
